Funny - I have 401k matching, paid holidays, paid vacation, health benefits and do NOT work for a union.  Never have.  I wouldn’t be where I am today if I was a union worker, as seniority is taken over hard work, hustling, or performing beyond your peers.

The Miata works because of literally every little detail about it, exactly the way it is now. It doesn’t need to be a foot longer and a couple hundred pounds heavier. Changing it in that way would ruin what it is.

The 3 just got a refresh. The 5 and 9 are not that old and still absolutely gorgeous. The MX-5 is also still absolutely fantastic. What exactly isn’t Mazda building that people actually want?   

I can’t believe I’m saying this but I ran into a lady at a Chevy dealership who described her Equinox Transmission saga JUST like you stated. It barely had 30k miles on it or something and was on its 3rd transmission. Meanwhile I was just sitting there in the Service area to get a software flash for my 90k mile Volt.

In SXM you can bring up the tuner controls from the menu, which have previous and next station buttons that share the screen with the current station info. Agreed that the steering wheel controls are useless in SXM, they should let you re-map what the short and long press functions do for the seek buttons.

As a certified ROF (Retired Old Fart) I have, for years, been getting messages from my back telling me that it is best for me to drive cars that sit a bit higher than the roadsters, etc., that I prefer. This puts me in the market for a compact SUV and the turbo CX5 looks good.

I use car play in my CX-5 (and the 2019 Mazda 3 Hatch back that I had prior to the CX-5, with the same infotainment system). It’s not intuitive at first, but once you understand it, it’s faster and easier than pulling your eyes off the road to find the right icon to actually touch on the display. That said, their

This new infotainment system is Awesome , I use it mostly in Android Auto and it is fast, intuitive, has super clear and sharp resolution and control thru the knob , overall far far better than any generic touch screen from vehicles in its price range. Next time reviewer should spend some time to adjust to this

Run, don’t walk, away from the Equinox. I know four people who’ve owned one, and they all have horror stories...including the one who spent ~$6k replacing the transmission shortly after her warranty expired.
