Just get a newer XC90, but the T8 version this time. They already like their current one enough to give to a family member, stick with what you know and like.

That's very impressive. Hope they start offering CDL classes with these beasts.

With his terrible death-whinny?

Counterpoint: the rear metal bodywork is pretty similar to the outgoing car, but they removed the character crease that was aft of the rear wheels at the same level as the “point” of the tail lights, which has been exaggerated on the new car making the new taillights into chevrons instead of tall and narrow C-shapes.

Counterpoint: Liberties (Libertys?) go through head gaskets so much that even Subaru throws them shade. They’re best to be avoided. Thankfully the 3.7L didn’t last that long. Ugh. Also they aren’t all that safe.

Can confirm. Really the Mercury and Mazda versions of mainstream Fords (or, rather, the Mazdas that Ford based their models on and made some for Mercury, too), like the Milan and Mariner you mention, but also the Mazda6 and Tribute.

She doesn’t need a smaller car, she needs pedal extenders. It sounds like she’s already sitting dangerously close to the airbag already on something as small as a Mazda3 (which is pretty fun as non-performance ”compact” sedans and hatchbacks go).

Uhhh Ford made the military “jeep” before Jeep was even a company.

This isn’t an uncommon practice among truck makers - and automakers in general for “best-in-class” claims - and such claims are usually listed with a paragraph of fine print, along the lines of “single cab dual-rear wheel 2WD with #.## axle, long bed, base package and special Max Payload package” and such. Surprised

It’s probably designed for off-roading scenarios, like the Bronco’s Trail Turn Assist feature.

Electric Ranger makes more sense, as all the Maverick and platform mates are at a different plant area, and I suspect Ford is continuing their top-down strategy with introducing larger and more profitable modern (so not the Focus EV or other electric offerings from the last 120 years) EVs first (moreso the Lightning

If it makes you feel better, The Drive made their own social media post this week about that Jeep that was towed while in gear where the engine spun up to “50,000 rpm” and ripped itself apart. Motor Trend also shared a social media post about an article they did about the Honda Ridgeline’s bed-trunk thing from when

Damn, sorry to see you go, Raph. You’ll always be the better half of that too-short-lived TV show folks have forgotten about.

I was gonna say the Goose package has a panoramic sunroof that doesn't open. 😬

Maverick is very close in size to the Explorer Sport Trac, but obviously (or not so obviously unless they're parked side by side) the Sport Trac has a slightly taller cab and a smidge more ground clearance. It's a very functional size for a truck or really a 2-row passenger vehicle in general.

Nice to see a dealership with a Soul.

Lincoln has blue interiors, and they’re sublime. Part of their “Yacht Club” theme.

That is a lovely green, inside and out. And the wood trim *chef's kiss*

I also would like the Zune interface, or at least the Windows Phone/Mobile iteration of it (or maybe Groove). Best portable media player system I've yet used, and infotainment system makers could learn a lot from the clean, uncluttered UI and shallow learning curve. Actually surprised Microsoft didn't (or wasn't

Surprised no one mentioned that Volvo/Polestar is using this company for their LIDAR systems on upcoming models. They have a bump in the roof for the LIDAR sensor housing, hides pretty well with the black roof trend.
