Per the article, they’re delivering more packages and fewer envelopes, so they need bigger vehicles.

New USPS spokesperson:

This is how they should do the hood-line on all pickup trucks for pedestrian safety.

The execs in charge of this would have generated just as much shareholder value by simply wiring several million dollars into my credit union account and then rolling over and going back to sleep.

I liked the previous logo for its almost surreal simplicity. This looks like a rejected proposal from 2007.

I mean.... It’s fine I guess. But if they paid more than the $25 one of those web-based “custom logo services” charges, they paid WAY too much.

Maybe I’m stretching the definition of badge, but the EV-1 was not my first thought:

GM discovers 2005 word art

Real footage of me reacting to seeing the new logo:

It looks dated as hell today.

If you think of it that way, this logo design is about 20 years out of date from when they used to subcontract Fisher Price for the interior bits and bobs.

With GM, it never gets better, it just gets a little bit worse each time.

9m huh? Is that how high their ambitions are?

I recall a story from many years back in which ICI (huge British chemical company) paid over a million pounds for a consultant to tell them that they should leave their logo just as it is.

Why do companies NEVER fucking learn. Once a logo has been in place for more than, say, 15-20 years, do not fucking change it. There’s 0 chance you pick a “timeless” logo, as such a thing has never existed outside of companies that were fucking smart and never changed their logo!

That typeface choice was a huge fail. Gonna look dated as hell in a few years. Don’t even get me started on the gradient. 👎👎👎

My Cutlass had GM badges on the side of the car I think. As well as the keys of course.

The old one may have been pretty bland, but it’s instantly recognizable, and that’s all that matters.

Yep, first thing I saw was Goodwill too!
