hey!
The Navigator is rated based on use of premium gas vs. lower octane for the F150/Expedition. Mechanically they are the same. All Ecoboost are DI. I'd guess the next (2018) Navigator will use a Raptor spec 3.5EB at 450hp+
6.0 maybe... But the 7.3s are pretty much bulletproof.
There is a ton of head room left in the 3.5. I’m not sure where you’re coming from.
I just spent the last week in a rented F150 with the 3.5L ecoboost... that thing hauls serious ass, can confirm will do burnouts.
What??
Ford easily left 100HP/75TQ on the table in the current gen Taurus SHO iteration of the 3.5L EB. Add methanol injection, and some guys are well north of 500HP on stock internals with no ill effects.
Because no one does ECU tuning for gas turbo engines.
60-80 at the wheel increase by simple ecoboost tuning. that’s prety substantial.
Your Ford is leaving a wee bit on the table
My 2010 Flex has a 3.5liter EcoBoost that makes 355HP and 350lb-ft. The base engine without the turbos makes 262HP and 248lb-ft. So the turbos “only” add 93HP and 102lb-ft of torque, or very roughly 1/3. That’s pretty conservative for two turbos.
I like the power of my engine, but it always seemed to me that there was…
That’s a far from scientific test. There’s a large number of variables that go into the power output on a specific day. Unless it’s on an engine dyno It’s far from conclusive.
470 lb.ft. is a tremendous number of torques. I’m looking forward to trading my ‘11 in on a ‘17 and then proceeding to pull sub-six second 0-60 on ramp launches at every opportunity.
And people thought Ford putting a Turbo 6cyl in their money maker was going to be horrible for them...
That is more powerful then my 7.3L powerstroke. Actually 5 lbs feet less but the weight difference will make up for it
We reported a few months ago that Ford’s 2017 F-150 was going to debut with a new 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, which was…
Never bring a Pokemon to a GTA fight.
Ironically, they dragged this dog of a show out to two hours (with Extra Gear), when I think most of us would happily have watched an extended Top Gear with Clarkson, May, and Hammond. Hell, I’d have watched a three hour episode every time if they’d made them.
Plus it’s just an hour if you fast forward.
Dear BBC,
