They’ve been using that windshield design since the 2015 model. It’s no more or less expensive than other designs (at least through our glass vendor) and is actually easier to install and place in the frame since the ‘notch’ helps with guiding it into the correct spot.

You may be able to get a different color if you do Volvo OSD (Overseas Delivery). One of the folks in a forum I follow was able to get Pine Green on his V60 when he did OSD a couple years back. Such a great color, and the one I’d choose if I were buying a new Volvo.
