When I lived in San Francisco, my roommate was home alone when someone broke in. He called the police while hiding in his bedroom closet. The police said they wouldn’t respond because they were “too busy.” No one ever showed up, not ever. There’s no report it ever occurred.

I’m white and I heartily endorse this! Brilliant idea. I need to come up with a good reason to get them called on me. I’m thinking loud music. Maybe Steely Dan. Alternatively, I could fire up the leaf blower at 5 a.m.
