I consider myself freakishly lucky - my parents divorced, my mom remarried, and my dad has had a steady ‘girlfriend’ for something like 15+ years. Everybody gets along. My dad and step dad can talk, and we even go to family events still. Example: 2 Thanksgivings ago my sister was flying in to where my dad’s side of

Man I loved that game, I played the living SHIT out of it... of course that was on a US SNES so it was technically FF 2 for me.

Not to mention the sound system at a real Imax is something that’s hard to describe to people who haven’t heard (felt) it

I’m lucky in that I live near a really good legit Imax Theater. We have a few ‘fake’ Imax’s in the area too but only 1 real one. When Star Wars was out last Christmas, it was one of the few that could display the movie fully in the way Abrams shot it (so non-3D).

Oh shit, thanks for describing me sort of, though I haven’t melted down... yet

Yep, 100% agree. I was a lowly desktop tech long ago, and an opportunity for a engineering role came up. It was an internal posting and a lot of people applied. I was the newest to the company and had the least amount of experience. To set myself apart, I set up an AD domain, and SCCM and did things with them. I came

What-in-the-unnatural-fuck was that??

Well I’ll admit that the score was not a standard John Williams affair nor did it sound like a ‘Star Wars’ score per se, but musically I thought it was fantastic.

There was an X-Files episode that kind of covered this:

Yeah, that bugs me too. You can’t have super speed without an insane speed of cognitive and reflexive processing. Think of how much they’d be capable of learning as fast as they’d be able to read and understand a book.

Agreed! I straddled both era’s too, though I was slightly more on the tech side of the era (born in ‘87). I remember not having cell phones when you were a kid/high schooler, and since we lived in the country, internet was not practical or something we often experienced so I didn’t really get into the internet until I

A lot of games do pretty nice, especially newer ones. Check this site out, it lists out the support for ultrawide/regular widescreen gaming: http://www.wsgf.org/mgl

Yeah, everything except the reasonably priced part exist. There’s a really nice Asus ultra-wide gaming monitor that has GSync, fast response/refresh, and everything else (even overclocking). Unfortunately it’s ~$1300 which is just about as expensive as the PC it would take to properly drive all those glorious pixels

I caved and bought it anyways. Found this posting on how to fix it assuming you have Windows and a Blu Ray drive:

I haven’t heard of this issue, is there a Extended release version that has corrected it?
