I come to Kotaku mostly because of Mike and Jason. These two guys alone (and their oddball tastes) make Kotaku infinitely more interesting than all the other gaming sites out there, which mostly just care about mainstream crap.

I’m going to be that jerk and say that games shouldn’t have to rely on licensed music to fill their soundtrack. It just strikes me as poor form. Make your own damn music.

Using the Doom name guarantees that it will be a great commercial success, so why wouldn’t they? As long as gamers are too dumb to understand that this game has none of the people who worked on the original game, they are damn well going to leverage their IP.
There’s no need to increase resolution, it’s 325 dpi which is enough for regular usage. More than that and you start wasting GPU resources and battery life.
Gamers need to understand that games are made by people, not companies. The current id Software is staffed by completely different people now. There is no reason to believe that this game will be any better than any other generic shooter.
