I think the Xbone controller looks like a (strangely colored) loaf of bread with buttons and sticks on it, while the PS4 controller looks like what a video game controller is supposed to look like.
You are in some pretty heavy denial. They are very clearly intentionally ripping off the Souls games, right down to the HUD design.

Uh, Square Enix has given up on handhelds in the West a while ago. Even after the commercial success of the Nintendo-published Bravely Default in the West, they STILL couldn’t be bothered to care about doing it themselves for the sequel.
I think fighting games are by far the most understandable (and most entertaining to watch) of all competitive games, everything that both players see is on a single screen.
