What's awesome is the disgusting headline. Jezebel is just as guilty of this bullshit as everyone. I guess you can't expect better from Gawker scum.
CAFE regs. The Government should not be dictating the kind of car that I drive. If the market wants fuel efficient cars then the market will demand them. All CAFE does is increase compliance costs and eliminate or make more expensive vehicles that consumers actually want.
Other movies steer around the fact that the driving in their movie is obviously fake. Strange Brew jumps right in and lets us know that the film is totally self aware. You have to appreciate that.
For everyone saying their city already has it, I think the key difference here is that the range will be much greater, so emergency vehicle won't have to spend as much time at an intersection because the light will be green for them when they get there because it changed 30 seconds before they got there. I think that…
Yet one of their changes to their constitution was the inclusion of a specific right for states to secede if they felt they were not being represented properly. There were a number of changes in their consitution that were focused on states' rights. I fail to see how you can say all the talk about slavery was…
Yes, it was. The only one. Tell me why else they seceded?
There's a lot of talk of slavery in the secession documents, but there's also a lot of talk about states' rights and self-determination. And Lincoln did more than acknowledge the amendment:
Because they didn't trust Lincoln or anyone around him, and given the demographics of the entire Union they correctly saw that slavery was untenable in the long term even if Lincoln relented in the short term.
So why didn't they just rejoin the Union when Lincoln promised to pass the Corwin Amendment, which would have protected slavery?
