I wasn’t so dialed in as I am now for previous editions, but we managed it in 2014. In fact, we were playing Lost Mine of Phandelver before the PHB was released, just a bunch of Basic Rules printouts.

Poor Things also had a ton of fantastical set design. They were more similar than you’d expect in that category.

Problem being, the turn of the century now sort of means that Turner would be a big fan of Limp Bizkit and Surge soda.

I just downloaded Die, Vecna, Die! from dmsguild.com, which was the final 2e adventure published before 3e was released. Interesting they’re doing the same thing again.

As I watched all the little kittens walk out of the ship, I thought, “Invasive Species”

Me yesterday: Hey Shadowheart isn’t following the rest of the party. That’s annoying.

I was at a show this weekend and the classic red-and-white popcorn box said on the side “Nutritious!” I was like, ok popcorn let’s not get too excited here.

Yeah, I regret-ish my Tesla, but I tell myself that the president of GM probably isn’t a nice person either.

If it was actually Hondo the internet would have blown all the way up. I’m going to go with no since it wasn’t ever a story on iO9 or elsewhere that I know of.

I think it’s crossed over with the subset of people who comment on blogs. I couldn’t care less about professional wrestling and it went from “wtf is kayfabe” five or six years ago to occupying the same mental space as ‘yeet’. That is, a word I understand but would never speak aloud.

The Redhats have soured me on ever buying politician merch but that’s great.

The body double conspiracy is amazing to me. Have they seen this man? It’s not like he’s some generic 5'10" dadbod guy. I would guess you could find maybe two or three men in the whole world that could sort of impersonate John Fetterman.

Didn’t you see the bit where the planned city is next to Fairfield and Rio Vista? Lots of poors living there, of course.

Having never finished the main quest in Skyrim or any Fallout game, this makes me wonder if that’s my problem with these games. Sidequests are far too distracting for me.

WotC has chosen to focus each edition on a specific world, and 5e is generally Forgotten Realms, or mostly more specific the Sword Coast. Because 5e is by far the most successful edition ever it’s easy for it to look like there is no other place. Greyhawk got the interesting-but-niche Ghosts of Saltmarsh adventure

If you’re ever crusing Highway 1 outside San Francisco, the Taco Bell Cantina on the beach in Pacifica is pretty great.

As a Sacramentan, excuse me? What is this teehhhhcks Mex? I mean, there’s a couple Del Tacos within a few miles, if that’s what you’re saying.

I grew up in Iowa and every time my brother and I happen to be home at the same time we basically spend our time driving to Casey’s and back for pizza.

That reminds me I need to watch that Beanie Baby movie/series/thing I saw a trailer for on Netflix/Apple/HBO

The conversation in my house was, “screw this we’re canceling - wait new Witcher? Shit!” They timed that perfectly, tbh.
