She starts with “YES ALL WHITE PEOPLE” then in the next sentence says “MOST OF YOU”, so yes, she’s fucking wrong and her take was dumb.

Right but that’s exactly where she fucked up. “ALL WHITE PEOPLE” is a stupid thing to say when there are in fact white people (obviously not enough of them) who do recognize and speak against this shit.
Everything in her post is valid except the “YES ALL WHITE PEOPLE” line. That’s where she fucked up, has nothing to do with being outspoken or refusing to assimilate.
But she is wrong. Saying “yes all white people” is what’s problematic in her post. In the next sentence she then backpedals to “most of you”.
Yes ALL white people.
Right. For me personally, wifi is the killer feature of Nest, which has been replicated at much lower price points.
I get the criticism but at the same time, there are limits to what the rest of the computer can do with more memory, so it makes sense to max out your memory from the beginning and use it for the workhorse it is. I just bought a top of the line MPB touchbar whatever and I have zero doubt it will do everything I ask of…
Exactly. My previous MBP I would plug in magsafe, display, and external keyboard every single time I sat down at my desk. Now all those things are connected to my Apple USB C dongle so it’s a single connection to plug it all in. Less wear and tear on the computer itself, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised how little I…
Fitbit is popular and has sold tons of devices, I don’t dispute that. But I stand behind my statement that they’re simply not beloved enough as a company for customers to happily sign on to their service. For health stats especially, trusting the company who manages your data is an important factor. With the…
That is really cool, and something that can be done with a few dollars worth of existing sensors.
Contemporaneous written notes are free, and more valuable for something like this than an attorney anyway.
And by teaching kids to trust their own intuition. Like when it feels like someone is invading your personal space, it’s ok to stare them down/walk away/say something/tell someone. I think sometimes once contact has been initiated that’s part of where the fear and paralysis takes over.
This is a fair criticism though I stop short of conceding that this makes Nest a better bet. In my view the hardware is simply overpriced—I view a thermostat as an accessory to my home not an appliance. The “learning” tech doesn’t sway me.
Customer’s don’t like being forced into things. Cars/dealer service is probably one of the best examples of this.
FWIW, I bought a top end MBP a month ago expecting to be totally annoyed with the dongle situation, but it’s superior in every way to my previous MBP setup individually plugging in power, external display, and apple keyboard every time I sit down at my desk.

This is a dumb and bad take. Grilled portabella is nothing NOTHING like finely chopped mushrooms mixed into ground beef.
Excellent trolling with the mention of “McDonald’s level burger”. 👍
High quality beef is what $6-8/lb? Organic mushrooms are what, $2/lb?
