So experience was vital and lacking with Obama but all these other folks are just old and used up?

I think Boors is also an appropriate plural in this case.
Gun-owning liberal here, you’re gonna need a militia too, right?
When I was younger I was friends with a girl who “didn’t care about politics” and it had nothing to do with her significant other or anything else. It often is out of weird patriarchal loyalty but there are also stupid people in the world.
I really hate people who say they don’t care about politics. There are always issues they care about (the environment, women’s choice, social safety net, etc.) so saying they “don’t care about politics” couldn’t me more of a straight up lie.
It’s sort of like when you’re driving and you see a bad accident with 3 or 4 cop cars parked—you kinda know you can go a couple mph faster than you might normally since the cops in the immediate area are clearly occupied.
Not to add to your despair, but the midterms will be a shitshow and there aren’t enough R seats up for grabs to do a fucking thing. If anything, there are several weak D seats that could go red.
Newsflash: ideas aren’t what are lacking in the democratic party. Charistmatic, electable leaders are what’s lacking. Bernie is too old, and is plenty charming but does not have the charisma to sell progressive policies to the entire electorate.
LOL republicans shrinking government? I guess if we completely forget about George W Bush’s two terms, maybe that could possibly be true.
The executive is pretty weak in this country if they are given the cold shoulder by congress. Dems can’t man every hill, so we need to choose carefully which battles we choose to fight and which hills we choose to die on. You cannot with an argument with a shameless idiot like Trump. Focusing on congress is key right…
I think Russia fucking hoodwinked the shit out of a lot of people with this whole thing, and they got seriously lucky to go along with that.
I have never been able to get over the fact that Tul is essentially the store brand of one of the office supply chains, because the name they gave it is literally the least imaginative name for a product they could possibly have given it. I’d be more inclined to buy them if the brand was “Generic Pen Co.” than “Tul”.
Yep, that guy. I still think he’s less dangerous than Pence. If Pence could make it so, he would gladly sign a law putting the US under some christian version of sharia law.
I wish us the best of luck, but sadly my degree of confidence is extremely low right now.
Reality? His past stated positions? His current stated positions? I mean, at least with Trump maybe it’s 50/50. With Pence there is no doubt he wants abortion rights and lgbt protections rolled back.
Frankly I think the least scary actual possibility is Paul Ryan. I don’t think he would be a good president, but I think he would be more pragmatic than either Trump or Pence.
Are you a woman, or do you know any women? There’s a good chance you or someone you care about will actually die because Pence thinks abortion should be outlawed.
How do we do that after another census in 2020 and the inevitable gerrymandering that comes with it?
I wouldn’t be so sure—and there’s another census in 2020 which will lead to more gerrymandering and Trump is going to do everything possible to make sure there are no federal or supreme court judges willing to challenge the republican’s redistricting.
We should be taking a very hard line against Russia. The sanctions are working. Trump will rescind the sanctions for promised cooperation from the Russians that probably won’t ever happen.
