I suppose my point was actually how silly and foolish it sounds when people insist “I never forgive anyone for anything, I just move on” because moving on sounds a hell of a lot like forgiveness to the rest of us who don’t have our heads up our own asses.

Did I say anything about it being absolutely necessary? No, I didn’t, but I can see how when you twist my words that way, your point actually makes sense.

Dylan Roof is deeply disturbed and mentally ill. There is a stark difference between that and general asshole behavior for which most of us seek or grant forgiveness on a daily basis.

Upthread I was making a point about the absurdity of equating child sexual abuse by men and women. Women are abusers too, but to say men and women abuse at the same rate—as Ka Mai is upthread—is ridiculous.

How about looking at a metric that might matter, which is views year-over-year?

Capitalism is about profit. Profit is the opposite of “best price”, so if all you care about is the “best price” then capitalism is the exact wrong way to achieve that.

Fault is a matter of opinion, not objective fact.
