Hello fellow federal employee! I’ve already given up on this job and started working with a career coach to pivot to corporate work for this very reason (and a toxic work environment). I’ve been trying to do this for five years now and I just can’t anymore.

As someone who works in a government office that exists entirely of white women, I can promise that white women looooove perpetuating the same systems as long as they personally don’t feel victimized.

My partner and I were talking about that a few days ago. The War in Afghanistan totally was Boomers wanting to “show mom and dad how you REALLY FIGHT A WAR!” while flinging young millennials in like cannon fodder with no strategy on how to get out. In their zeal, they made all the same mistakes.

Every time someone mentions Kissinger, I google him and am shocked all over again that he’s still alive. I apparently lose that detail the second after I google it.

That’s not surprising to me at all. One of my friends divorced her husband but kept his name so she would have the same last name as her kids.

Yea, I don’t consider myself a “hardcore catholic” but I am a practicing Catholic, and my church has been extremely strict about masking, social distancing, and working hard to encourage and help people get vaccinated. It’s a really progressive Jesuit church but still…this isn’t her being a religious nut, this is just

My parents have a story from early in their marriage, right after my mom had babies (I have a lot of siblings). My dad was young and early in his career and worked CONSTANTLY. He stayed late at the office, worked on weekends, never took vacations. One evening, after he got home late and she was exhausted from dealing

I didn’t hate the first movie, even with all the cringe. I refused to watch the second and probably won’t watch this one. I liked the ending with the first movie and was happy to leave it there.

This has me super worried. Like what’s the long term solution? I cannot imagine our government keeping the eviction moratorium in place forever, but having massive amounts of people suddenly evicted from their homes seems like it would be MASSIVELY destabilizing for the economy and infrastructure. Even in normal

All her teammates strongly supported her decision. When you care about your teammates, you care about their well-being as well as the work they contribute to your the team. None of those young ladies wanted to see simone suffer or injure herself for a medal. They value simone biles the person, not just simone biles

THIS! I’ve been talking about this in my professional life a lot. I no longer admire people who refuse to take their vacation leave and work through being sick. Destroying yourself for something, whether you’re an athlete or an artist or a professional, is not an admirable quality. Simone Biles can do amazing things,

I mean, there is fencing. It’s my partner’s favorite to watch.

This is how I feel about it. She did something awful AND she clearly has a really unhealthy relationship with social media. I’ll believe she’s truly sorry when she logs out to deal with her need for constant attention. She has a gorgeous husband who clearly adores her, two beautiful children, millions of dollars and a

I’m 50/50 virtual and in person classes with my pole studio. I’m an upper level student, so my classes are pretty small anyway (between 3-5 people per class), and the studio is really small and most people have freely disclosed their vaccination status. I’m also in a really highly vaccinated area (one of the highest

That’s how I feel. I remember the styles but it’s the horrific standards of beauty and the treatment of women as objects from that time that really spikes my anxiety

My home state of Mississippi is in a similar boat as Arkansas, and I can say with decent confidence that the cause isn’t access to the vaccine. I’m watching healthcare professionals on my Facebook feed BEG Mississippians to get vaccinated, and every post is littered with conspiracy theory nut jobs. The pandemic proved

Can’t Twitter sue over this? Is it supposed to be a farce?

Even when teens do consume culture, I think a lot of it is passively and without questioning what they’re listening to until it’s brought to their attention. My pole dance studio has a teen program, and the instructors there are super about learning how to sensitively correct teens who use hurtful language without

I was wondering about him and why we are all pretending that never happened.

One of the things that gets me, though, is that she keeps describing her past behavior as a desperate attempt to be funny and cool, but Stodden was referring to private DMs. No one in chrissy’s much desired general public would even see those messages. She sent private messages encouraging self harm to a young person
