Uber and Lyft just need to raise their prices to meet their operating cost needs.  It will be really annoying, but they will still be more convenient than yellow cabs demanding cash and rude operators.

Yep, solidarity for the deadspin folks!

Absolutely.

It’s very unfortunate.  Magary resigned too.

I’m on board.

For me it’s a pakistani restautant I go to every week on my work lunch.  It’s never over $12 an entree, you’re in and out in 25 minutes, and the owner is always there, friendly yet not too friendly.  They have good hot chai too.

If you live in Iowa or Alabama or Tennessee, and you have a minor league affiliate, you’re more likely to care about the major league affiliates because you feel tied to it somehow. So, if you just want the major market fans involved, fine, fair point. But if you want it to still be a national sport, then the minor

This feels like self harm to baseball as a whole.  Do you want less people interested in your sport?  Reduce the ability to watch it.

Library Page was my best minimum wage job. You spend your day putting books away and retrieving them for clients. You have minimal client contact, and it’s low stress. I worked at a very cool science and engineering research library from 14-16, and walking those underground annexes was lovely in retrospect. The smell

If only there was a city with a history of support for them with a perfectly good stadium already built.

Do Uber and Lyft scam their drivers? YES.

The Colts have been regularly humiliating the Chiefs for decades.  This is just another notch in their belt.

Surely it’s the lack of competitive drive/profit maximization in the bottom tiers. Attendance seems fine with the major teams like Boston, Chicago, Stl, and the teams that are winning at the moment. If it’s obvious you’re selling the team off and committing to a 90 + loss season, why would I bother showing up and

Seems a cheap entry point for the inevitable repairs down the road. As long as you buy with that in mind, I think it’s nice price all the way.

I sort of liked it, but I love all space movies, so I’m a bit biased. I think the gravelly monotonous character presented feels like an accurate approximation for a well trained NASA astronaut.

As to the temporary car issue: With cash, buy a cheap high mileage compact car from the 90s that runs well enough so that it’s not overly unsafe. Spend some time cleaning/detailing it yourself so you don’t feel bad about it’s appearance. Limp it along for a year, then discard it at the end. If it breaks down halfway

Why not just have it in one city as it was in the Greek Olympics. We couuld make our own Elis!

There are certainly more destructive habits out there.

When you build a housing development in the middle of an animal’s migration zone, you should expect this.

Why would you board early when you can be the last person on the plane?  I have no desire to spend more time in a flying coffin than is necessary.
