This just in- Consumer Reports has just rated “Consumer Reports” with a below average ranking. The drop in ranking was based on issues with browsers failing to pre-load their webpage even if you weren’t going there, to print magazines that dog-ear too easily in dentist waiting rooms.

Looks to me like a case of asshole (swerving into them) on asshole (speeding recklessly, passing in a no passing zone, no safety clothing) crime.

It does not matter. Modern cars will tell you in the information display if something is amiss and quite possibly shut the engine down to prevent damage. Gauges are purely a styling cue to make you feel slightly more involved with the oily bits.

I’ll skip the usual “correlation, causation, blah!” spiel and counter this by saying that in the history of car transport, low-priced cars are safer than they’ve ever been.
