I liked it.
The short answer is that he isn’t in the new series, and the rest of the cast is, so they review the returning characters. The long answer is the same, but with the phrase “because the actor raped a bunch of women” inserted before the word “and.”
I hate stracciatella on principle. Just the word. I don’t trust a word that means three different foods. I just know that one of these days I am going to order it and get chocolate chip soup or something.
This looks to be going in exactly the direction I was hoping for.
That part had me absolutely howling in laughter. This dying, scheming queen trying to pull himself up on to a couch and all of a sudden finds himself being interrogated by his near-victim and it’s about if Greg is.... having an affair.
In this post-Succession world, eat-the-rich satire is a dime a dozen - but where else can you find Jennifer Coolidge massacring a group of gay mobsters?
Yeah, Daphne’s visceral reaction to Ethan’s news was the best scene in the episode. She was so hurt not only because Cam cheated on her again, but because Harper betrayed her in a sense. She tried to hard to have a girl friend in Harper, but Harper betrayed her, just like all of the other girls.
Going into this ep, knowing she’d seen Greg’s picture and heard Greg’s phone calls and saw the uncle f***er in action, I was thinking, “maybe Tanya has hidden layers?”
Caveat Ape-tor.
It was also so cool to see one of our greatest living actors do some real ACTING with that heartbreaking “no homecoming for me” line.
I’m a little surprised that nobody mentioned Bert. He seemed in the most recent episode to suffer a pretty complete emotional collapse, finally realizing the state of his family and his own relationships. Not getting the homecoming that he expected in his hometown shattered the illusion he was living in. The trip that…
hey, actual sex worker here, and for the millionth time: we don’t “sell our bodies” (in fact, i’m sitting here, in mine, right now!) we sell our time and our companionship. there’s really no need to parrot one of the most ignorant and cliched descriptions about our profession in service of your review. thanks!
You should watch the trailer for the next episode where Albie’s father straight up berates him for using the nice guy/white knight act as a way to manipulate women into going out with him. That’s as clear as it gets what White is trying to say about Albie and guys like him. And in that respect, Albie is not a good…
Aubrey Plaza IS great in this - but A LOT more happened in this episode.
Chekhov’s photo frame! That was a younger Greg (in a cowboy hat, no less!) in the photo with a younger Quentin, right??
Agree with some of the other commentors here, Daphne is very clearly implying that she is having an affair with her trainer and at least two of her kids are genetically related to him, not Cameron (I think they have three - right?). Fahy is great BTW - she was great on The Bold Type too, by far the most talented actor…
Anybody else think Greg might be the cowboy Quentin was referring to? And Quentin was on the other end of Greg’s phone calls? We’ve been thinking Daphne and Cameron were the grifters, but maybe that’s a misdirect. Just a thought …
