Now, I'm usually a fairly pleasant, peaceful person but as soon as I saw the article title my hackles rose. Better than New York bagels? What foolishness is this? New York has the best pizza and the best bagels. It is known. Stick to your poutine, smoked fish, and maple syrup, Canada!

Yah Malcolm was just around too often after S1, acting more like a campy thorn in Team Arrow's side than an actual, threatening villain.

I disagree (obviously) haha. S4 flashbacks were pretty awful, but I knew it was setting us up for the Bratva flashbacks so I could persevere.

S3 starts off pretty good, but runs out of steam at the end (it also has the worst flashbacks);
S4 has its bright spots (mainly the Big Bad and guest spots from John Constantine and Vixen, although there are some standout episodes), but is pretty uneven;
S5 has been consistently fantastic. S3-4 should be on Netflix now.

I haven't seen Supergirl except for cross-over episodes so I can't comment on #3, but I'd put Prometheus above Dhamian Dharhk (Arrow's actually done a pretty good job of making compelling villains over the years, Ra's al-Ghul notwithstanding. Malcolm was fantastic in S1).

idk Wentworth Miller has been doing alright for himself: he's got a sweet gig as Captain Cold on Flash and Legends of Tomorrow (his character is more interesting on his own than Purcell's Heatwave, so he'll continue to get opportunities to guest star on Flash in some capacity I'm sure) *and* he's a screenwriter! He's

I loved him in most everything he did, but I still think my favorite Heath Ledger performance was 10 Things I Hate About You. His smile was incredible.

I think Dark Knight is just too long, honestly. Or it *feels* that way, at any rate. And I'm not sure what I would cut, necessarily, because Harvey serves as an excellent foil to Batman and is necessary for the character-questions the film asks of Batman. But once Joker is taken care of (the two boats social

Polly is still a very odd character. She has very little autonomy or initiative as a character, and people talk *about* her more than they do to her. She feels kind of like a doll?

It's actually more Kendrick telling other rappers (mostly Big Sean) to stay humble and take a seat, rather than announcing his own humility.

Thinking on it I'd also cite Eli Gold from The Good Wife (although I'm only 2.5 seasons in) and Saul Bernstein from Homeland as good Jewish characters who don't fit the above molds. Probably Ari from Entourage too (although he may veer a bit too close to the greedy Jewish accountant/lawyer stereotype). But *physical*

I'll probably post this again whenever he comes back, because it'll be relevant (and selfishly I want more people to read it), but I miss Rory because he was a low-key Jewish superhero, which is really rare!!

CAME HERE FOR THIS

re #2: "most marketable" is a hazy area though (and a lazy excuse by studios that don't want to develop new stars, and don't understand that POC-lead movies are actually quite profitable).

I'm still surprised at how surprised people are by this.

He was good in Coriolanus…

I'm catching up; steadily gaining on The Flash. Now just two weeks behind.

OMG I just stumbled upon the new format everyone was complaining about. It really is that bad. Wow.

In retrospect that was a silly question: this is the AV Club: it's how I found the show, way back when. Of course y'all remember Awake.

Yesssss. Jason Isaacs was so damn good in Awake. (Does anyone else even remember Awake?)
