I was actually hoping the period piece aspect would just be 1998 all over again tbh

Star Wars: TFA had Finn (Afro-British) as a lead, and Poe (Hispanic) as a prominent supporting character, so that's definitely progress.
And a very nice thing about Rogue One (which i just saw) is that the only major white male character is the villain. Otherwise, it's one white woman and a very racially diverse group

It was "Mighty Whitey" anyways, because a white dude comes in out of nowhere, is the most naturally gifted student, and saves the day.
They should have cast a non-white actor as Doctor Strange—that would have been a commitment to diversity (same w/ Iron Fist tbh but that was an even better opportunity to cast an Asian

1) If he actually has them and wasn't just bluffing, not that I'm aware of.

10 Things I Hate About Chew.

If I could, I would make a rom-com set in the Star Wars universe, but the entire dialogue would be in an alien language. Probably Wookiee, to ensure appeal. Very low production costs, very good Christmas movie, etc.

His "Mr. Doctor" bit was great in Strange, but otherwise the writing didn't give him a lot to distinguish himself with. Pity. Marvel has had lots of trouble with their villains though. Only Loki has stood out, really, in the films.

But the Empire also protected its part of the galaxy from the Yuuzhan Vong, made the trains run on time, etc.

Studios are very risk-adverse because films cost a lot of money to produce, but…they also think John Carter is a good idea. Studios are weird.

Yeah but they (studios) are already really good at coming up with garbage.

I think the instructions re Legends were: "Take what you want; it's all fan-fic now, except we own it, and it's really full of creative, interesting ideas and characters perfect for dilution and commodification!"

Any notes on Mads Mikkelsen? Will this be the second blockbuster this year he's criminally under-utilised in? Will I forever be a mere Fannibal, mad that Mads isn't getting his due?

quiet down with that Star Wars Legends fluff. it will just confuse the children!

I'm not going to watch this, but Allison Miller is in it, and I loved Kings, so I'm happy she's still cashing those paychecks.

I know someone who read the pilot's script (he had some family member in production) and was actually really bullish on it. It like weirdly worked. Soapy and self-indulgent? Sure. But also fun and smart.

This one? 15% is average; 20% is a good tip; 10% is for poor service.
I usually average around 15% with my tips. I hate American tipping practices. So unpractical and exploitative.

Pretty sure Raquel breaking into tears after the Kaddish is tied into her general spiritual turmoil and likely repressed grief from the miscarriage. She does not choose to perform the kaddish—Maura takes over the ceremony (classic Pfefferman) and leads the congregation in a mourner's prayer for Josh's molester, and

They did. Season came out months ago; AV Club originally wasn't going to review, then changed their minds.

Passes right over the legitimate (and feminist) criticism of Clinton to get to the meaty stuff: weird demeaning remarks about her facial expressions. K.

Even if only 10% is worth watching that's still a ton of content! Plus I'm always catching up on some older tv shows at the same time. And occasionally foraying into foreign markets. So the less tv I'm aware of that's "good" and that I can't watch, the better I feel haha
