This is one of the reasons I love George Michael’s “Freedom.” He went through a similar experience with Wham and hated what everyone expected of him and how he screwed himself by adhering to those expectations that benefit everyone else but him.

But part of the problem is that asking is part of the emotional work. Recognizing that it needs to be done, planning it, delegating tasks, all of that goes unseen.
