Starting to see more and more of them around and they look great. It will easily be the next EV status-mobile, once held by the over priced Model X. I would imagine some development white collar jobs will be eliminated for better or worse (and maybe for just a few years) to allow mfg personnel to stay around.

That was just Kinja actually functioning correctly for once to keep that from searing our eyeballs.

Pacifica PHEV is a solid choice. My sister owns one, gets nearly all EV miles due to charging from solar at home and only uses gas on long trips. Even with that, was running 35 mpg (not plugging in) fully loaded, 2 adults/4kids and a ton of stuff on a 2+week trip to the north (NC to NY).  No issues other than self

Payback is way longer depending on your utility prices. You and many others seem to assume that electricity is free or nearly free. At least in MA, it is very expensive. The equation has shifted to favor EVs but for the 5 years I owned a PHEV it was a wash, would have been cheaper to buy the hybrid only version due to

The Prophecy concept was great. The spy shots for the Ioniq6 show that there is more body between the top of the tires and top of the hood and rear which takes away from the great look and flow the concept had.

It has way more to do with a heavier car and more torque trying to rip apart the tire than an eco tire vs non-eco focused tire.

Right idea but even when used Tesla prices were at the lowest a few years ago they still rarely ever went below $30k. I never saw one. Was in an Uber to the airport with co-workers last week in San Diego, the driver had a brand new Model 3 with every option, had traded his older Model 3 in that was working fine with

Not only demand lacking but Biden’s messaging that he wanted the US to use less and produce less oil by words and policy changes. If the government isn’t going to be helping you, they are going to hurt you. Unfortunately for the President and more so all of us, he is getting exactly what he asked for.  While we all

Agreed about the natural gas. Although in 2018 we had a major issue just north of the city where the full pressure went into the local distribution piping.  Major mess for months to repair.

I can’t say that I have seen maybe more than 1 or 2 newer Expeditions in the last year or two. These can’t be selling in huge numbers.

Locally I am only seeing new ones discounted $500 - $1k vs $8k-$10k+ in previous years. The same dealer has a used 2019 with 50k miles yet that is priced higher than any new one at $38k, can’t figure out why.

How much fuel was in the tank of each car? I thought most cars had a few gallons at most to cover the few miles racked up during transport.  Surprised to see them be able to travel that far and I am guessing at high enough speeds that fuel economy would have been terrible when trying to go a long distance.

4th - The current situation in China is not good. Honestly, right now is the worst since the beginning of covid-19 in regards to parts, primarily electrical (parts, chips, cable assys, motors, etc) coming out of China. The latest lockdowns will be more crippling than the first wave.  We have some suppliers that

Your age is something to look forward too, keep these punk kids in line.

Sure, but that is why you pay more when you pay online for a service like this vs just calling in an order and picking it up yourself. A tip should always come after good service. Maybe they could show an average % of tips that the customer has paid previously to at least get some idea of what to expect.

Once again blaming Russia (where have we heard this before...) when inflation was already on a record pace at the end of ‘21, beginning of ‘22. The Russian influence is just a cherry on top. The real driver for oil/fuel price increases was an administration that wants to move to more eco-friendly options (no problem

Amazing to hear in real time. One thought though, I thought that all aircraft to ground communication around the world was standardized to English?

They kept it annoying enough by listing numbers throughout the post in digits or spelled out with no rhyme or reason.

Worth it to pick up a set of wheels to avoid the time and money lost to do the swap.  Once you are done with the car you can usually resell the tires/wheels as a set, even well used, and get some money back.
