I think being able to hit 100 mph plus is fairly easy as you mention. But, doing so in a car that is capable of doing it somewhat safely for an extended time is a whole other story.

Agreed on the lights. VW does a decent job making them look distinctive, one of the things I like about my wife’s new Atlas. Then again, the light signature, while controversial up front on my Sonata N Line, looks pretty good from the rear too. I wanted to like the GLI but it is just a bit too small and so damn cheap

In regards to the paddles, I have the same transmission in my Sonata N Line, with a little more power from the 2.5t engine. You don’t need them much because the car figures things out pretty well, but they respond just like a DCT should and feel the same in terms of response as my previous VW DSG. Around town / in

Yup. Quirk in Quincy used to advertise them well into the low $20k ball park, without adding in tax credits from the feds and rebate from MA.  I was on the fence too.

Wow, and all these years I have been thinking COMTNDRVR meant “commenting driver” or similar as I quickly scroll through posts instead of “CO Mtn Driver”.

I am a huge fan of the last Morgan 3-wheeler. The front end design was a huge part of it. Looked like an old fighter plane.

Not sure I would take this over the Ioniq5, have to wait and see them in the real world.

Not sure the death rate had an impact. Well over half were over 75 years old, not exactly what I would consider Uber’s target audience.

Another instance of poor cell phone video taking. Horizontal when filming! This person even had to bend the phone over to get the shot, wouldn’t have been an issue if they had been in landscape mode to begin with.

If you have the cash to buy all of this then you are likely going to tent in one of those yurt things (not going to write out the “gl-mping” word, just can’t do it) or just stay in a run of the mill $300-$400 night hotel/lodge set up and skip the pita that it is trying to live like this, even just for a few nights.

Relax, your insurance company isn’t reading this. That all sounds safe but not exactly reasonable in most areas I drive. Flow is around 80mph on the section of I95 I drive near Boston, even with the 55mph limit. Guessing most other major metro areas are the same.

Based on the street view picture that looks like it shows this Accord from 2 years ago, and the lax auto safety laws in MI, I wonder if he had fully functional lights. It appears to have a busted drivers side rear light assy.

If your proximity key is in your pocket, water hitting the handle is enough for it to open / unlock. Can confirm this on my ‘21 Hyundai Sonata N Line and ‘21.5 VW Atlas SEL R-Line.

No Hyundais, Kias or Genesis really look like each other, even in their own brand silos. Vs Audi or BMW, the lack of design continuity is a breath of fresh air.

I made one comment here that likely ruffled feathers, might have even considered changing my tone a bit after reading replies, you know, the whole point of discussion.

Sounds like VW back with the TDIs. The parts that would fail were related to emissions yet not covered under powertrain or emissions warranty.  Then, come to find out, it was all a joke anyway.  The nearly $500 sensor repair stung but eventually got repaid to me because too many people were having the same issue.

Wow. Boston area chiming in. 87 octane around $2.95 to a little over $3 per gallon, $0.26 per kwh for electricity. Slightly better ($-wise) to drive a full EV than a hybrid at this point based on my past calculations when I was driving a PHEV, more or less 60% hybrid / 40% EV mode (full battery depletion or else I

lol, $300k houses. You can’t even get a 6k-10k sq ft lot around here for double that.

Same experience for me at Bondurant years ago. Loved driving the CTS-Vs around the track then asked an instructor to take me out in one of the ‘Vettes. I never thought I would ask because it meant that I would give up a lap or two - turned out to be the best trade off. Wow, incredible experience, approaching the
