Yes, I'm quite curious how aware Asami is about Korra (and Korra's feelings about Mako). I felt that she was pointedly trying to impress Korra with that race. Her "But I thought…" when Korra rushed off afterwards also made it seem like Asami had been making an effort to make friends.
