Not that I want to defend this episode or this season, but the homicide department not accepting LaGuerta's accusation of Dexter as the killer is completely reasonable. That's some basic ingroup bias right there - it's extremely difficult to accept that someone in your "group" has done something wrong, especially

I'm getting the impression that a lot of people don't quite realize just how extensive Tolkien's world is. Peter Jackson isn't adapting just The Hobbit into three films. Honestly, I'd be surprised if the actual events of The Hobbit take up more than a movie and a half, all told. The rest comes from the ludicrous

Lord of the Rings: 15 times
The Silmarillion: 3 times
The Hobbit: I don't know, like 20 times or something

I don't know, I kinda liked this pilot. It wasn't first/second-season-of-West-Wing-good, but it was still good. Not great, just good. I mean, did anyone really go into this expecting something other than unfiltered Aaron Sorkin? There were some unfortunate lines, and some of the characters aren't particularly likable,

Well, in fairness, West Wing did put a decent amount of focus on things like passing bills (most of Josh's job was convincing Congressmen to vote one way or another), bad press (what with one of the main characters being Press Secretary), pseudo-scandals (Hoynes, Leo, and Bartlet), etc. The larger focus on speeches
