Indeed. Sparta enslaved a whole people (the Helots) for generations. They were only freed when democratic Thebes sent the Spartans running to their acropolis much later on. I've never understood how they could make heroes out of the Spartans, who were pretty terrible people overall.
Five minutes. Yep, that was four minutes too long to stay.
Put your hand on the drill, let the root canal begin..
Modern Guilt was great, it's just not as "out there" as other Beck stuff. "Profanity Prayers", "Chemtrails", "Gamma Ray"… yeah, MG is pretty great.
Mutations has "Static" and (in the JP version) the haunting "Runners dial zero" as well as the other great cuts mentioned. Mutations is well placed very high on any hypothetical Beck album list.

You can find it under Beck's VEVO account on Youtube too. Boy I can't stand forced Spotify embeds. http://www.youtube.com/watc…

Moreover, the cars had to be returned after filming: VP being a bit of an art film, they were counting on sponsorship to get it made. The '67 Camaro shell was a much more viable solution to stick…
Isn't "Anti-American" a very loaded term (McCarthy-style loaded) though? Isn't something like "critical of the US" better instead? "Anti-American" seems to me to be used either by 'MURICA-types or scary government officials.
