Canada could’ve benefited from TGV-class trains from Windsor to Quebec City for about 50 years now. Or at the very least a Toronto-Ottawa-Montreal service. Everytime they’ve come close to getting it done the government changes and it gets cancelled.

I’d say about half goes to roads in Canada. Most of the gas taxes are provincial and that money goes into the roads but the feds don’t maintain any roadways other than the Trans-Canada so they dole out their portion on select projects, recently which have almost entirely been for either public transit or “ugly”…
