It’s been an issue for years on these sites, they have copied the right-wing playbook of being proud of their ignorance.

Yep. It’s a hit piece just to be a hit piece. The Gates Foundation has been investing a _lot_ of money into things that have the potential to improve quality of life for a lot of people. Drinking water, electric power, all sorts of things.

Yeah, not knowing what the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation is, is not something to brag about. It’s one of the best charities in the world. They’ve done more the near eradication of malaria than any government or charity in the world.

I mean I’d take money from anybody that’d give it to me and I don’t see why one should say no to taking a bad person’s money, but covering it up is in bad taste.

I mean, he sucks universally. The left just has fairly legit reasons (hoarding wealth, creating artificial barriers to vaccine access) and the right has almost entirely imaginary ones.

This. Whatever he’s like personally, his foundation - which, Jesus, Jezebel, do some research before you casually dismiss the Gates Foundation - has done an incredible amount to transform living conditions in the developing world.

I think the thing you are also missing is there is levels of Advisor/Robo-Advisor. There are two functions for advisor accounts. I think what helps me is to not think of it as losing 10s of thousands of dollars, since I’m not going to start using that money for another 30 years. Instead, when it does drop, I usually put a little extra in since those funds are basically on sale.
