“Mr. Nolan, what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may

So because the country as a whole was too right for Obama’s health care plan, we should go as far left as possible. After all, all your friends on twitter are for it and they are a representation of the American voter as a whole.

Bold Strategy, cotton, lets see how 4 more years of Cheetoh in Chief works out for you.

Not at all. I think the statement of our inevitable extinction is hyperbole but we will certainly get screwed.

But that is going to happen anyway, because even if we waved a magic fairy wand and made the Green New Deal happen tomorrow it still wouldn’t change the fact that we are screwed, because Russia and China and

Woke white blogger feels like other people should have to pay for reparations (after all, woke white blogger isn’t responsible for racism!) is perfectly on-brand for Splinter 2019.

Agreed considering The Gates Foundation alone has given away $45 billion since its inception. Maybe it should focus more money to supporting African American needs but I’m not going to support bankrupting it’s main benefactor.

This should be a series. Thoughts by a blogger that you would swear came from a middle schooler. This could be part two. The original as always...

Yeah we know, if Bernie was President he’d have taken all the guilty members of the Bush administration out to the Rose Garden and personally shot those paper hanging sons of bitches.

Criticizing Muslims for simply being Muslims, or existing, going to Mosque, praying to Allah, or any other reason, is a horrible thing to do. Criticizing the ideologies and ideas within Conservative Islam, or Orthodox Judaism, or Evangelical Christianity or strict Catholicism should be as acceptable as criticizing the

Splinter dunking on literally everyone and everything is honestly starting to get tiresome.

Yeah, it’s a perpetual escalation thing, and it’s ultimately based on the flawed ideal of maintaining power long enough / at the right times for everything to work out perfectly in one’s own favor. These are the same idiots who think that maybe California should be broken up into 4+ states, so they can each have 2

That last email is the one you should have sent first, and it’s a shame you had to let Bret Fucking Stephens hand you your ass before you realized that.

The stated goal of the DSA is to end capitalism. It’s right on the damn website and in the interviews with the leaders. There is a growing force of people, on this website and others, who want to reboot the economic system in a manner that is openly hostile to capitalism.

Increasingly I see an alarming tendency in my fellow Democrats to equate pragmatism with cowardice, and to lionize rigid dogma. We can’t fight Trump by emulating his worst instincts, and this is certainly a case of that. Let’s not go down that road.  Instead, let’s win over voters by drawing an appealing contrast

A few times in history there have been big, bold, young and exciting new ideas that were criticized by stodgy old skeletons who were about to die soon anyway. Heads rolled, fortunes were repossessed, and mansions were filled with the poor and deserving. A new day had dawned!

I just think Democrats need to stop apologizing for what they stand for and to think bolder. These two reps are doing that. If your starting point is “how will we defend this from Republican attacks,” you’ve lost.

As you would see if you read my first post, I work 55 to 60 hours a week and also find time to work creatively. I find fulfillment from work, and I hope others do too.

Yes, I’m sure the filibuster is absolutely the main obstacle to fighting climate change. I’m sure this procedural change in a single house of the legislative body of a single manufacturing country is going to be the key to saving the future from climate change. Rally the fucking troops, we’ve found our magic bullet.
