I resent it too and also rarely look at my phone. I don’t expect people to reply to me right away or ever. I just happen to think “just saw this!” is dumb and usually only hear it from people weeks later.

Check your phone whenever you want and respond when you want. People don’t need to hear when you saw their text.

Exactly. If you just saw it, awesome, you’re responding right away. If you saw it a week ago, okay you couldn’t or didn’t want to respond earlier but there’s no need to lie.

My phone is actually confiscated when I’m at work. It never occurred to me to say “just saw this” when responding to people because I’m either responding as soon as I am able or I just didn’t feel like it and it’s later than I was able to and that would be lying.

I wasn’t implying that people need to check their phones at all times. I’m not even allowed to have mine with me during business hours.
