Not really. One of the greatest-sounding engines in the world is a rotary, and there isn’t an LS-anything in any form that compares. Even amongst other V8 offerings it doesn’t rank.

the only real gotcha is the differences between the aluminum and iron-block engines. Though I think the Gen IV and V are all aluminum now.
