I’ve told this story here before, but it still makes me laugh. I worked in a hotel in downtown Indy that connects to the convention center, prior to the JW opening it was the nicest hotel of any size in the city. So it was highly popular amongst players, coaches, etc.
I’m from Indiana and Euchre was religion to a lot of people. My dad is from PA so my folks played Spades, so I’ve always played both. I personally think they are more or less identical games with different nuances. People that play one or the other will generally fight with a tremendous veracity that theirs is better.
