Did you see the Kenosha town hall with Bernie & Chris Hayes? That ‘illegals and busing in voters’ booolsheeeet was brought forth by a rather ticked-off lady who claimed that she couldn’t get her degree because of all the illegals at her job. Yes. She said this. Out loud. There were a lot of misinformed voters pledging

I was saying this the day after the election, but people were too busy screaming “bigots and racists! bigots and racists!” hopefully they’re starting to get it.

Yep, that sounds exactly like Michigan. (Detroiter here). Everyone was super excited about Bernie, and that enthusiasm was never really there for Hillary. Some of the Bernie people who thought Hillary was going to win for sure went third party or didn’t vote at all because they thought we were safe from Trump.

Because “rigged” isn’t accurate. “Influenced” is a better word and part of the success of that influence is based on Clinton’s existing foibles.

Because there can be more than one factor in a result?

Here’s the stat I return to about the election:

I can’t tell you much about Michigan but I am from Wisconsin, a state that until recently had a long history as a Blue State. I think a couple things happened.

It sounds like the Clintons fucked up in the same way they did back in 2008's primary campaign, screwing up the mobilization/state-by-state game and letting their central office people screw things up at the local level. That’s troubling, although I still think Comey was the bigger proximate cause why Clinton lost.

DINGDINGDING

Apparently the DNC thinks elections are comparable to professional sports. Last I checked, baseballs don’t tend to stay home on game day if you snub them.

People are selfish. Almost all people vote in their own self-interest. Trump promised to bring the jobs back that have been long gone and probably won’t come back. You cannot argue against that. They voted in a last chance effort to restore their way of life. If you thought your way of life was ending but had to vote

lol, you should talk to the other 3 million minorities that decided clinton was too boring and too white to vote for

While I do think the Clinton campaign made some missteps, a bigger issue was that the polling in states was so off. There wasn’t a single credible poll in Wisconsin or Michigan that showed Trump winning. Marquette (the gold standard in WI), for example, had Clinton up by six in its final poll. In Michigan, Clinton

10 points to hufflepuff

Wait, people from New York overlooked flyover states?

look how can we blame the campaign when there haven’t been any contemporary examples of extraordinarily run campaigns that leaned heavily on ground game, grassroots tactics

Stop. We’re still reeling from the loss of our artisanal mayonnaise store.

This still holds true, although maybe not with clothes as much. The body types and hairstyles most in demand are the ones most people can’t attain.

The NYT article about what’s going on in there right now is very distressing. Complete lawlessness. The police are roaming death squads who can kill anyone and then just say they were a drug addict. What should be worrying is that there are a fair few people in the U.S. that would welcome this policy here.
