yea, as much as i sympathize with the message of the article, it could do without the condescending “i took a native american history class in college” vibe. we all get it, native people have been fucked for 200 years, that isn’t news to people who read this site.

I don’t know if it is true but I’ve seen an ad before some youtube videos claiming the Standing Rock tribe was invited to all the planning meetings and never showed.

This may not be a popular opinion - but I’m assuming that years of planning went into this project - was there protesting all along the way? Or just at this point, where they are actually building it, and the costs for changing the pipeline are now huge?

I am all for offering a suggestion of some way to support those who are doing good work and making sacrificing for the betterment of others. While I make regular charitable donations, I could do better, no doubt.
