You watched the same movie I did and think complaints about it being poorly written are dumb? You think Holdo was a well written character? No problems with gravity bombs in space? No issues with the Holdo Maneuver completely changing the way space battles could and should be fought?

That explains why you like it I guess but I couldn’t disagree more. Wish we could do a poll that excluded people that don’t understand how she knows how to use the force because they didn’t see a training montage. Based on the fact we are still talking about it makes me think I am on the side of the majority.

Maybe he learned how not to lead from Holdo. I have no idea what they were trying to do with her character but its been awhile since I have seen a character written as poorly as she was. How did she get to be in a leadership position? She did nothing to make people want to follow her. Did that many people ahead of her…

I think the only reason we are still talking about it is because it was so poorly done. Anybody that remembers the previous movies knows she is capable of using the force, even if we haven’t seen it. The problem with the scene is that its cheesy and looks terrible. Execute it better and we wouldn’t still be talking…

To me, what should have been an amazing character moment was marred by poor effects and direction. I just rewatched the scene a few times and it looks so bad and cheesy. IMO if the scene executed better we wouldn’t be talking about it now.
