This would’ve been against the rules last year too. Or even 9 years ago! During the 2007 Mets collapse, Marlon Anderson reached his arm to interfere with the defender (even though he was within reach of the base), and the same exact call was made.

Pretty simple application of the rule. He made contact with the fielder, but it wasn’t a consequence of his slide. Maybe he shouldn’t reach his arm out for no other reason other than trying to trip the fielder (and possibly break up the double play), and they’re up 4-3.

I don’t care who you root for, Bautista knowingly and willfully reached out to grab Forsythe’s leg. Fuck that piece of shit, he lost his team the game. I hope the AL East comes down to a half game and they’re out, and we look back and think of this game. Fuck ‘em.
