Agreed. It used to be that more magazines fact checked but budget cuts have eliminated many fact checking departments and reduced the manpower of many others so a lot of fact checkers resort to spot checking instead of real fact checking.

The piece you quote is basically correct. I am a fact-checker. books are not fact-checked. newspapers are not fact-checked. *some* magazines and *some* websites are fact-checked.

Almost as hard as saying goodbye to PoI is how lonely it feels to be a fan when so many people I know would have loved this show if they would only have watched it.

especially they don’t even seem to cover POI anymore. one story about this amazing final season? ridiculous.

this is not a fair comparison. the RAINN stat is how many rapists go to jail not how long a sentence a convicted rapist gets. two different stats. google searching tells me that the stats are old but a rapist on average will spend about 8 years in prison (a bit more than half of the sentence)

I have to admit that I’ve been getting angrier and angrier at io9 for ignoring Person of Interest since the season began. This made up for it.
