Where do you work?   How easy will it be for you to just up and quit immediately, and then go look for work?  Hell, How easy will it be for you to find work.   You might be able to say right away, you might not.  I don’t know your situation, as much as we don’t know theirs.

YOU CRITICIZE SOCIETY YET YOU PARTICAPTE.jpeg

As a currently unemployed game dev I would like to say to you F off.

Many did not.  Don’t make the mistake of thinking that there’s a sign on the front door warning women that they’re signing up to be mistreated and discriminated against.

Why does anyone work a job they don't like? Because they have to to pay rent and eat

Thank you for continuing to report on this crap. It grosses me out that I continue to see Riot pushed in other media as the “cool game studio. I threw up in my mouth when I saw their involvement in HBO’s Ballers show... but I guess it was also kind appropriate to see them associated with a show about rich, womanizing

It stinks of fake doesn’t it?  Game is out two months and there is a $1.4 million character sold and resold.  Almost like someone wanted people to search for the name of the game.  I know it sounds absurd, but.... It is absurd.

Anyone else feel like this is a viral advertisement? I mean, it’s like this whole event is set up to get “that” games name out there. New game from what I can gather September 2019, has a $1.4 million item purchased and sold for $500? That sounds all manner of fake. Meant to make us laugh at everyone involved, but

I’m not sure a 198K USD character is really any better...

“In olden days, it was said that there’s a sucker born every minute and two to take him. Considering today’s population count, we estimate there’s a sucker born every 7.6 seconds, and 345 to take them.”

The answer is the 1 child policy. China now has two generations of mostly males competing for the few females. Those males who are unfortunate enough not to have a lady have a ton of disposable income and a lot of loneliness. They spend it however they want to fill the void.

Fuck everyone involved in this story. Fucking morons.

Probably through his parents and laundered it into real estate in British Columbia Canada or something.

Probably leeched it from his parents.

According to the wording the guy who spent $1.4 mil was ordered to pay another $13K to the random person who bought the character on the game’s auction site. So the random who spent $552 on the character got almost 20x his money back.

The company canceled the transaction, so the plaintiff(ie. the original owner) Still owns the account.

Fools. Money. Etc...

What the in the living hell? How can a character be worth that much.. Evidently, since this is Chinese only game nothing comes up in Google about it other than some youtube vids and it looks like every other MMO.

I haven’t made $1.4 million in my lifetime. Where’d he get the money?

I’d be interested in an article regarding why China and to some extent Korea have such a fundamentally different attitude to Pay2Win games. I can’t even imagine how it’s possible to spend that much on a game, much less so why someone WOULD.
