Next weekend (a week from yesterday), our production of The Tempest with me as Prospero opens. Eeep.

Good luck with that! Moves are so stressful. I’ve slept on peoples’ floors before and basically been homeless a few times in my life. Never on the street, but still, the anxiety and stress is so consuming. But still, you will get through this! A year from now you’ll be like I am a warrior and went full beast mode on

I’m currently still seething at a person who thinks it’s funny to pick up an adult and tell them “You’re just a tiny little thing.” I’m not short, I’m average height, and I may be skinny and boney, but you know, not appropriate to comment on!

If you’re gonna hook up with one roommate you have to hook up with the other, too. That way nobody can get mad. That’s just common sense, Patrick really dropped the ball here.

This feels like a “should I date a coworker” question, in that I’m certain it has worked out for someone in the past, but that someone is probably not going to be you this time.

Can’t wait for the follow up article: “How to avoid all contact with your roommate after your ill-advised hookup blew up in your face but you’ve got 6 months left on the lease and can’t afford to live alone”.

I read an interesting article last night about the similarities between the prohibition and anti-abortion movements (decades-long campaigns, heavy rural/religious influence, etc.), the conclusion being that prohibition was killed because it actually happened. Once enough people were affected, opposition mobilized and

I’d like to also take a moment to ask people to have a spine when it comes to their support of abortion and its necessary legality. I’m so tired of hearing half hearted, damn near apologetic “defenses” of abortion from libs. ALL pregnant people deserve the right to seek an abortion - not just rape victims or the woman

this is bullshit. That the minority group in this country can still have so much control and can end up telling women how to live their lives.

Majority of white women still vote for Trump in 2020.  As White man (who despises Trump and the GOP) I already know my demo are assholes.....but until choice voters and activists develop the voter mobilization the ProBirthers do...nothing is happening.  Musk wont respond to abbots quote. Choice activists should be

Don’t let “pro-lifers” fool you. Plenty of them obtain abortions, then seek to whitewash their image while denying others the choice they allowed themselves.

I don’t think most Americans realize that Biden has a terrible record on reproductive freedoms. He was anti-choice for literal decades until he decided being president was more important. He supported the Hyde amendment until he realized that he wasn’t going to get the nomination unless he opposed it. Even though

As someone who grew up somewhat financially insecure - never heard a worry about losing the house or anything, but definitely remember some bills not being paid on time - the fact that someone who doesn’t have enough money to leave a state could POSSIBLY be expected to raise a fucking child is a terrifying indictment

Anyone else get choked up for the abortion clinic workers at this? I know what it’s like to go full throttle against the clock, but not at these stakes, and I’m definitely an empath and have been drinking, but damn. Goddexx bless the workers, and fuck Republicans.

It genuinely makes me wonder how many of these pro-life protesters have to deal with crushing debt, poverty and working multiple jobs to feed 3 kids they were forced to have.

We also really need to provide free legal counsel to anyone sued under this law. The law is meant to intimidate - it won’t actually function well if every one of these suits is contested in court and dragged out for months or longer at a time.

I would think conservative justices would be especially worried about a law that gives everybody and their cousin standing to sue anybody within sight of somebody committing an act that some legislature deems unacceptable.

That is a terrible take isn’t it. Obviously if the pro-lifers were really pro-life they would be actively assisting newborns and mothers to help them along. But few of them actually do that I’m guessing. Its all part of those who go to places of worship on Sunday (for the optics) but do whatever the hell they want the

This may be an unpopular opinion but many of my Pro-life friends seem to be more Pro-birth instead of pro-life. Many arguments fall in the scope of “don’t do the deed if you can’t live with the consequences” which is woefully lacking in empathy IMO.  They just care that the mother gets their perceived “come-uppance”

I’m glad everything went well for you. I had an abortion at 8 weeks pregnant at an Austin clinic in 1999 when I lived there. It was easy-peasy, with no complications and no protesters, thankfully. I was in graduate school and there’s no way I would have been able to travel out of state. My heart breaks for everyone
