Frankly, if I was in this match-up, I’d rather be In the Heights. Between “the legacy of the original West Side Story” + Spielberg + $100 million budget + Christmas release, I’m not sure how it can meet expectations ... and the mostly white creative team doesn’t augur well on that front. ITH has an easier bar to clear.

Tamblyn’s dancing was outstanding, and in seeing the ‘letterbox’ anniversary film a few years ago, I was really struck by his acting ability. I think many of his fantastic reaction shots (to Bernardo sassing Krupke, to Tony’s lovesickness, to the lesser Jets’ bloodthirst) were cut out of the frame on the edited-for-TV…

Yeah, I hope he can dance like Russ Tamblyn. I’m guessing not, though. He’s just there for the smoldering stare action, prolly.

He’s rewarded in Hollywood because his father has been a Vogue photographer for ages and his mother is an opera director. His siblings are also in entertainment. He is the very definition of nepotism.

That is very yikes. It’s also just extremely inhumane.  That would really hurt.  What kind of person does this, and when you know it’s her, yeah - it’s really...wow. I’m glad she shared this. Maybe it was a little cathartic for her, because no matter who you are, that would be painful. 

I was for a second, than realized that the way bullies like this fucker keep their rep for rage is doing this kind of thing to “big stars.” Other people think well, if he can get away with being that horrible to Rita Wilson what chance do I have?

Seriously, this guy must have been in full “King Kong ain’t got shit on me!!!” mode to feel that comfortable making an enemy out of Tom goddamn Hanks.

I’m truly surprised that someone of Rita Wilson’s stature would be subjected to this kind of bullshit. And then there are all the people in similar situations who don’t have her resources to fight back.

I took Thursday and Friday off this week, just for mental break and to keep the leave from building up too much. Just been gardening and cleaning and setting up for grilling.

The pandemic has had the opposite effect on me. I’ve found I no longer want to talk to or possibly even see other people ever again. People are terrible.
