When this all went down, I don’t recall people (outside of diehard skating fans, maybe?) having any awareness of Harding’s socioeconomic background.

C’mon, dude. She didn’t swing the baton or drive the getaway car, but she definitely was in the planning and knew about it happening.

I’ve appreciate the expended empathy for Harding in light of the movie. Seeing how abuse puts people in untenable situations is really important.

Not surprising that Janney and Robbie don’t want to delve into whether or not she actually did it. Confirmation that she’s involved removes her from being a sympathetic figure, changes the whole narrative tone of that movie, and chances are they don’t get the accolades they’re getting from it.
