Except that it does. Fats and sugars cause the same response in our brains that drugs like heroin do. Addiction in general seems to have a strong genetic component so most people don’t develop that physical dependence on food (just like a huge percentage of people who try drugs won’t get addicted) but it does happen.

I was honestly surprised that “stranger danger” is still being taught since afaik it’s been thoroughly debunked. Thankfully it’s pretty easy to explain to kids why it’s basically bogus, especially since both my kids have been helped by *gasp* “strange men”.
