This is just the typical argument of the misogynist/racist/homophobe who doesn’t like owning up to his prejudice and thus projects it onto someone else, then claims that the prejudice of “those people over there” creates a lamentable reality that the target of the prejudice must tolerate.

They should have just told Stan they’re swingers.

I don’t claim to know the creators’ minds on it, but I have to think the close grounding in African cultural symbolism was intended to emphasize the Afrofuturism of the setting as opposed to more frequently portrayed white-as-default utopian settings. To not just be a generic ideal, but a distinctly and instantly

First and most importantly, is the definition of wealth. I’m from Ghana and I was once told “Give a man a field and some corn and he’ll be well off”

I seem to recall during the promotional lead up some press mentioning that Shogun World has a “higher intensity” than Westworld (ie, it’s designed to be even more brutal and fucked up). The impression that I got is The Raj is a “low intensity” park, one where you can sip tea and go on jaunty little safaris. They

When you get right down to it, Ford was just the kind of shitty DM that likes to railroad the PCs through his carefully orchestrated campaigns.

I thought I’d be sadder about this because the show has been a saving grace during these really very not funny times, but it’s the right move. The past season was very good but still showing signs of wear, I’d rather see them have fun with the last season knowing it’s coming to an end than resort to introducing

Evening beautiful Jezzies...Craft Thread!

“Isn’t anyone who’d murder the innocents she’d been looking after and loving for over two years insane by any measure?”

Thank you for this well-written and gut-wrenching article. Having recently gone through one of those “life-upending” tragedies - my father, a historically non-violent person, killed my mother and then himself, completely out of the blue - I find myself thinking about mental illness and where accountability

So here’s my tiny pleasure: Every morning I pour myself a cup of hot cocoa powder, add in a splash of milk (or any other similar liquid, dairy or non), and I don’t stir it. I get to watch the beautiful clumpy, grainy pattern swim through my cocoa, and don’t need to worry about how many days in a row I’ve used that

Implicit bias has shown up gruesomely in the past few weeks in (white) reactions to the six black children killed by their two mothers. The responses of many white people have been to scramble for ways to elevate the “humanity” of Sarah and Jessica Hart and emphasize what “loving, selfless parents” they were.
