Feels like Nolan hijacked the Westworld property as an in-road to making more seasons of Person of Interest, on the sly. It’s not that I’m not a fan of PoI, it’s that I wish he hadn’t so fully subsumed Westworld into this plot. They do have some natural dovetailing, story-wise, but it’s just not Westworld anymore.

So I made this last night — it ended up way overcooked, womp womp. The microwave method (I did 4:30) was great, but it just didn’t release from the foil after 15 minutes, and I gave it too much time on the second half after giving it extra on the first half. But I will try again!

The song that played when Peter and Simone finally hooked up (eeeee!!!!) was Song for Zula, by Phosphorescent. I really like the music choices in this show.

For my grandpa, it was kippered snacks on buttered Saltines. Good memories.

Agreed 100%. The prize at the end of this game is the connections between these people, who have become dear so quickly (to us), and who seem real and relatable. I think it’s so well written. Simone was totally projecting, but how could she not? I loved that Peter said ok, one year. He’s just not scared, it’s great.

Tonight I watched this episode of Devs and episode 5 of Picard. Alison Pill, you got some ‘splaining to do! LOL.

I have a fantastic game collection! And am quarantined alone. <womp womp>

There’s just no way they’ve seen it, right? There’s just no way.

These were literally the first two movies I thought of, in that exact order.

Putting Lily in a scene with Jamie just highlights the VAST GULF between the abilities of the two actors. He’s so good, and natural. She...is not. I honestly cannot see what Jamie ever saw in Lily, why he was ever so in love with her — it’s so bad that it turns into a plot hole, IMHO. Her acting is the worst drag on

My favorite! Was my great-grandma’s most popular Depression-era recipe. (Me: Indiana, her: Wisconsin.)

BUT IT HAS NEVER BEFORE ITCHED AS MUCH AS EVERY PART OF IT DOES IN THIS VERY MOMENT

Ughhh this book is my book group’s pick for May. The woman who picked it is dear and sweet and not really the brightest. She picks something classic or popular, and then watches the rest of us talk about it like she’s watching a TV show, contributing nothing more than “it was great!” Bless her heart.

Thanks, I plan to watch it after the show season is over!

I like Sally Field -- I really like her! -- but we have to wait TWO WEEKS for the Fredwynn episode? That feels like an eternity.

Oh hey, thanks! :)

I started Dispatches from Elsewhere over lunch thanks to this article, and liked it pretty well! I appreciate the tip.

That Jemisin New Yorker article is spectacular, thanks for the tip. Am really looking forward to her new one, plus the Emily St. John Mandel.

The soundtrack is amazing — the Mancini-esque instrumentals by Marc Shaiman, plus Xavier Cugat and Astrud Gilberto. The Michael Buble works too. It’s a great movie!

Oh, SoA is on my TBR pile, I got a copy signed last summer after hearing MM speak! She should do an online course or something, she was just fantastic.
