@SallySassyPants: Alikewise has 3 guys (in age range) in my area, none fit my tastes at all book-wise. Oh well.

Love them! Took this photo earlier this year at the Indy Zoo. He's sleeping all hung over a log, but I just want to nom that fuzz.

@SgtPepper: Do they not have those scanners at the Indy airport yet? I didn't see (or at least, notice) any when I flew out & back during the summer — haven't flown since, and won't until February...

She reminds me of Mary McDonnell (as President Roslin) in this pic. The glasses, the expression. Love it.

Didn't some Republican jackwagon want Sonia Sotomayor to "Americanize" her name?

@CubemonkeyNYC: Ending a post with "/flamesuit on" is enough evidence that you're a troll. Not that trolls aren't people too, and shouldn't be able to voice their opinions — I'm all for free speech, a position which also allows me to call you a troll.

@BreeKilledGeorge: Exactly. Jezebel drank Marie Claire's milkshake, and MC doesn't even know it. Drank it up!

I hope Beth and her husband have some awesome fatty sex tonight, while this Maura Kelly person sits at home alone with her calorie counters and her BMI calculators.

@thousandjulys: Oh, there's a spot on his hip, he really should get that checked out. Up close. By me.

Oh, this happened to us once! A bunch of family members rented a house for Thanksgiving, so we all traveled to the mountains of western North Carolina from various points in the eastern US. We did our grocery shopping there in town (Highlands, maybe?), and bought many things including a bag of frozen cranberries.

@margeh: I'm with you! It KILLS me that nowadays people read "William Morris" and think of a Hollywood talent agency instead of amazing decorative arts. Ugh.

I was in DC this past weekend and saw Bo being walked (sans leash) on the South Lawn, on Friday! I took this picture! The two guys out with him brought him up to the fence, and a few people got to pet him (as much as they could by sticking their fingers through the fence) — he was really patient, then just ambled

Ha, I designed a logo for a fictitious fertility clinic for a friend's Call of Cthulhu-based role-playing game. I looked at actual clinic logos first, and saw so many similar pink flowy logos, with either mother-baby imagery or egg-sperm imagery. Yuck, to both.

@bananafishtoday: I recommend Christopher Moore (Lamb is his best — and is so good that you may want to start with some others, like A Dirty Job); Muriel Barbery (The Elegance of the Hedgehog); Neil Gaiman (The Graveyard Book, Fragile Things); Markus Zusak (The Book Thief); Michael Chabon (Kavalier & Clay); Kazuo

@bananafishtoday: I bet you could get a lot of great recommendations right here on Jez, if you gave some general idea as to what kind of lit interests you...

@yn3russ: The Hounds of Tindalos would fucking love this place.

I went to Gnaw Bone Camp and loved (**LOVED**) the camp, the physical location, the place. It had a zip line, horse trails, a tire swing, a lake and a creek, etc. And the people who ran it were awesome.

That is positively Lovecraftian.
