Yeah, exactly.
Yeah, exactly.
I didn't know that you write romance, so I can see why you might take it personally. But the fact that MoGlo didn't explicitly say "SOME dudes in romance novels are kind of rapey" doesn't mean that she was making a blanket statements that ALL dudes in romance novels are rapey, either. I don't think she was trying to…
Why would it make you feel awful? The fact that she pointed out that a lot of romance heroes are not so admirable doesn't condemn the genre as a whole or mean that you should be ashamed for liking it. It just means that while you may like to read about a certain type of guy, you wouldn't necessarily want to date him.
I liked it. When I heard it was going to be a mash-up I was worried, but I think it worked. I agree about the weird editing, though - it would have been nice to see more of the actual dancing.
I love this comment.
1. You hate MoGlo? What even.
@najmah: Plus the Hufflepuff Common Room is down near the kitchens, for easy access to munchies.
@highjump:
@vanityfacade: I love the ode to old internet memes, goatse and lemon party.
Hey! What the hell did a Hufflepuff ever do to you, people of Austin?
@Sara Jean, coffee bean: Wow, classy. Like, you couldn't dress up for court and leave your jersey in the car to change into after?
Faced with the dismaying prospect of having to cheer for the same team as the people who would attend Sunday mass at St. Dominic's Catholic Church wearing green and gold Favre jerseys...
I'm in the same predicament, MoGlo! My mom's a Minnesotan and die-hard Vikings fan. I can't possibly root for the Packers! Almost everyone I know is rooting for the Steelers just to not root for the Packers, but I don't find that a good choice, either. Is it possible to root for all of the Steelers except…
@bobella is owltastic!: I was just going to type this same exact thing.
Mmm, I don't know, Dr. Spock's books are really about baby care, not child psychology. I mean, he did use psychology to make his recommendations for care, but I can't see the book really being useful to Bell and Walter while they were doing the Cortexiphan trials.
Yes, but SPGW would be the Society for the Protection of Gnomish Welfare.
That clip was amazing. I think it's time for me to start watching Community. My friends have been bugging me to forever, but I just haven't gotten around to it.
@Large_Colonial_Dolls: Nope, Connecticut. I think people here kind of worship the road trip novel because it's so boring here.
@sixiebubs: I was just generalizing because hipsters do tend to put On The Road up on this pedestal as The Greatest Book Ever Written, at least around here. To some extent I understand being annoyed by people "discovering" something you love, but to me it's always kind of "I liked so-and-so before it was popular! I…
