And this is why I think Amazon is terrible. I don't need Amazon to judge my reading content, thank you very much.

@WaffleCopter: I was a fan of the more snarky Ye Jezebel of Olde, but I don't like body-snarking Jezebel. What makes this any different than what you would read in any tabloid or lady mag?

@Cimorene: What was the Olbermann slut-shaming Britney Spears thing? I must have missed that one.

Here's what I really don't get: you think it's way awesome that Assange is the guy behind WikiLeaks and that WL is a good thing. You defend Assange and WL from the people who say WL is dangerous for the US. Cool. Why does this mean that you have to defend him from rape allegations? Why can't anyone just say, "Hey

@rye.bread.: Yeah, turns out KStew and RPattz can actually act, it's just that Twilight sucks. Just like Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portman can act, but Star Wars Ep. II and III were terribly written.

@rye.bread.: Me. Too. And it would be horrible if any of LHA's books got turned into a terrible movie. So far I think only Speak has been turned into a movie, and it was pretty good.

@monkeybusiness: ...Did you miss the part where I said I thought that was offensive even though I hate Jane Austen? I mean, you would never say that you wanted to go back in time and fuck Milton to get him to stop writing because you fucking hated Paradise Lost. It's the idea of "beating" a woman by fucking her that I

@rye.bread.: Nooo, not at all. It's literally just a movie about a bunch of high schoolers getting ready for prom, and how it's the ~greatest night of their lives~ and graduation is for their parents, but prom is for THEM. *gag*

@kiyo-chan: Probably not. I don't even work in a library, I work in a bookstore, but we get the same epidemic of people who just want to hang out all day and be disgusting. At least we don't have public computers, though.

Prom is coming out next year, I saw a trailer for it before Tangled and it looked TERRIBLE. But it's definitely being targeted at the High School Musical crowd.

@shannonmariefoley: I don't know, even a tiny bit of pee is enough to ruin a book. Because you can't have ANY pee on a library book, and even a little bit will ensure that the book forever smells like pee.

The way the story has been handled is undoubtedly a little suspicious, but I guarantee you that any librarian has seen weirder shit than a bottle of urine on the shelf.

@Charlie Jane Anders: No, it wasn't on io9, it was on Lifehacker. Someone was using Erica Ho's account to run around and star everyone last night. If you go about five pages back in #openthread you'll see. I think there was another editor account being used but I can't remember who it was.

@Pavement clawing maniac: Well, a few of them got into editor accounts and were going around starring or banning commenters last night,

I changed my password last night after I got wind of this whole thing, and was able to comment on all Gawker sites all night and this morning. Now I can only log in on io9, but I can't log in on Jez or any of the other Gawker sites. If I try to do a password reset, it says that there's no record of an account with my

@atepsflame: You think young children are just inherently assholes and that they don't learn that kind of behavior from adults in their lives? Seriously? It's a wonder anyone grows up to be a decent human being, then.
