Neither Sheen nor Lowe were “the star.” Sheen would go large swaths offscreen. It truly became more of an ensemble cast, with the president and his staffers sharing the spotlight. At no point was a single star really the main focus, though maybe that had been the original plan. I see the Sopranos mentioned here, but

There hasn't been editing on these sites since before Hulk Hogan and Peter Thiel sued them.

Yeah. It was kind of obvious that Rob thought he was going to be the George Stephanopoulos star character of the Bartlett administration, then they discovered that the President was the star. Much like The Sopranos, this was a well made show that really wandered on story arcs (and details) from season to season.

I’m sure all of that played a role, but mostly it was just not a good film.

Well when you make a movie that’s...“It’s fine, I guess, I mean at least its not offensively bad...regime change and philosophical differences tend to become bigger and bigger issues.

It sounds like a made-up concept for a show, in a real show that is mocking spin-offs.

I actually think it’s the opposite. I liked the episode a lot, but listened as songs separate from the comedy of watching it on-screen, they’re pretty generic. Some of the singing limitations of cast members are much more apparent - it’s really noticeable that both Jess Bush and Ethan Peck sing their solos in a pretty

Okay; bonafides up front here. I’m a queer nerd. I love Star Trek. I love musicals. I’m not against combining the two.

No.

This is @#$%’ing stupid. Shit likes this makes it so much harder to recommend the franchise at all. Let alone this great show.

The 2nd Season has been really, really good. But this was garbage.

Also: Did they mess around with the episode order? Becasue when Kirk comes back and askes about the whole ‘you owe me a

Should have had Kirk talk through all his songs.

I did not have this reaction, but I think understand it. And you are not the only Star Trek fan I know who has had it.

I’m curious what you thought of the fairy tale episode from Season 1.

I liked them both as standalone episodes (I loved this week’s episode), but I had a weird feeling about them as part of a season of

Sigh. I have grown to hate musical episodes. Buffy’s was cute, at the time unique. Since then it seems that almost every genre show feels a need to fit an episode in with a ridiculous premise for them to dance around and sing.  Stop it TV just stop it.

Just curious—do you just not like/actively hate musicals (which is of course totally fine if you do)?

This was truly painful to watch. Musical episodes are always bad, but this was particularly horrible. This isn’t why people watch Star Trek. Only episode of this show that I’ll never watch again.

Yep, can’t even watch the new season of Minx on the app that made it.

I’m on the verge of canceling myself and I’ve been subscribed continually to HBO for over a decade. Righteous Gemstones was the last thing keeping me.

Yeah, I think it was less about the name change (which was stupid) and more about killing all of the content / shows.

The migration to Max has gone exceedingly well with the overwhelming majority of subscribers in the US successfully transferred,” WBD CEO David Zaslav said during the earnings call.

“I have never witnessed a greater sacrifice by a lead actor in my career,” said Robert Downey Jr.”

This sounds like its own movie. Something along the lines of “Sideways.”
