I’m watching the Oscars tonight because that’s what I do. I usually try to see most of the nominees as well but this year there wasn’t enough time, nor was I feeling most of the nominees. But I did see Parasite! So good! And that movie with De Niro as the old guy? So loooong!

I was still full from last night so I skipped lunch. Now I am hungry desk chips it is! (They ate chips, that I keep in my desk, that I eat if I have a snack urge).

Important update: I ended up making fried egg sandwiches, and am now out of eggs and bread. Definitely going to stop at the store tonight!

Leftover lentil soup. It is fantastic soup and there is still one portion left over, sitting in the fridge. I made it with beluga lentils, crushed tomato and all things good.

I’m home sick today, so I’m using this as a chance to turn bad to good by making congee for the first time. I would live on the congee with white fish and ginger from my local Sichuan restaurant - if I could afford it every day. So I’m seeing what humble alternative I can create. Read more

I skipped breakfast because of an early appointment today, so I made an enormous sandwich to make up for it with sharp cheddar, spicy mustard, red onion and lettuce on crusty bread. A dill pickle on the side and a big chunk of toffee chocolate for dessert rounded it out. It was so good!

I have no idea what to do for lunch... maybe pita pizzas? I have pitas and spaghetti sauce and I think there’s some pepperoni left... I don’t know if we have any cheese, though. I think there’s a couple hot dogs left, but no buns. Oh, there’s turkey, stuffing, and gravy left from the other night. Read more

I had tuna salad, spinach, and grapes. Then someone left a box of black and white cookies in the kitchen so I had one of those, but it wasn’t great. I never like sugar as much as I think I’m going to, which doesn’t ever seem to stop me from eating it.

Leftover coq au vin from the weekend. My wife actually cooked, usually it's me! We also still have some patisserie desserts left over, I'm gonna polish them off.

Your salad sounds great. I made a healthy chicken salad. I’m having it with some carrot sticks. I have sugar snap peas and some cheese for an afternoon snack.

Plain fat free greek yogurt with stevia and cocoa powder mixed in.  Low carb, low fat, all protein and honestly it tastes pretty good. It’s not exciting but it gets the job done.

The Scotsman packed me a big veggie "meatball" and parmesan mashed potatoes for lunch. Its so yummy it reminded me of my mom's meatballs.

Throw pillows and lamps are the two things that I believe in my heart should be like, $30, and they're always so much more. I get super angry.

Today has been extremely Sunday—errands, laundry, cleaning, etc. Now I’m watching Jackie Brown and trying to find a throw pillow I like that costs less than $50, which seems to be an impossibility. Why on earth are these things so expensive?

I’m staring down the end of break and I didn’t get much accomplished. It was a mix, some visiting, some decluttering, some resting, but none of my goals got completed. Read more
