I imagine they’re trying to avoid a controversy, as simple as that. What they gain from the panel doesn’t really compare to the potential review bombing they’d potentially receive.

I personally don’t get it. The Punisher kills monsters like the Vegas shooter. And if it’s just about gun use triggering people; well, that’s life in the United States. I can’t really fault the showrunners erring on the side of caution, though. This whole thing is just...I don’t even know.
While I understand the value of using the Batman to hold a mirror up to the world and shine a light on some of our problems... Who WANTS to read this kind of a story?
Universal should just drop the Dark Universe concept and reboot the space serial films of the 40s and 50s like Buck Rodgers, Flash Gordon, and Commando Cody and put them together in a shared Universe.
Ok but what are the chances he (she) gets it on with her (his) own alt-self?
Welp, we can be sure of one thing. Someone’s getting laid.
Puts a twist on “All this has happened before, all this will happen again.”
I love these, even when it was done with Star Trek. I would sincerely love to see a Buck Rogers version, the serial vs the 70's version. Buster Crabbe vs Gil Gerard, pew pew :)
I always assumed he was referencing BTTF2.
Sorry, but NOT
Still a great line and delivery; a nice counter-balance to that frog/lightning thing everyone hates.
I just love that you a) either had the talent to produce this as needed or b) had the wherewithal to encounter it and save it in case it was ever needed.
I believe you can make it.
“[Batman v Superman] was too dark, or this was outside the tone of what I’m used to seeing with a Batman story,”
That’s an interested discussion in and of itself.
But MoS Superman wasn’t optimistic or bright. His adopted father said maybe he should let people die. If you were saying Donner Superman, then sure, but not the latest incarnation.
Say what you will about the movie (it sucked hard IMO), but Affleck is a great Batman.
Sigh. The problem wasn’t that it was too dark or that it deconstructed the hero. Hell, Logan was a much bleaker movie that completely deconstructed Wolverine and it’s one of the best superhero movies of all time.
The thing is, BvS being dark and depressing was the least of its problems. I’m hoping Affleck and the others realized this, as well.
There’s also the question if Affleck continues to be Batman or not.
